Dr. Paul Osteen Shares About His Trip to Iraq
During weekend services at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, Dr. Paul Osteen shared about his experience from a two month mission trip to Iraq. He and Emily, a long-time member of Lakewood Church, recently returned home from Mosul, Iraq, where they volunteered at a Samaritan’s Purse field hospital performing surgery and giving medical care to victims of war. Although there was tragedy and loss of life, there were also signs of hope. He reminded us that we can all be the hands and feet of Jesus, and that we don’t overcome evil with evil, but we overcome evil with good! (Romans 12:21)

Russ E. White, MD, MPH, FACS, FCS (ECSA) – What Are You Here For? Motivation in Medical Missions
In this session at the 2017 M3 Conference, Dr. Russ White, Chief of Surgery and Director of Medical Education at Tenwek Hospital in Kenya, will look at Biblical, medical, and practical motivations for involvement in medical mission work. He will discuss common questions such as “How do I know if God is really calling me to missions?” and “Can’t I serve the Lord just as effectively in my current location rather than traveling overseas?” Finally, Dr. White will look at what distinctly characterizes us in our mission work. All of these issues will be illustrated with memories of more than 20 years of full time, foreign Christian medical mission work.

Buumba Bubala, MD, MPH – Ordinary People Can Do Extraordinary Things
We all start out as ordinary everyday people, doing ordinary everyday things. In this session at the 2017 M3 Conference, Dr. Buumba Bubala, Director of Clinical Care at Mukinge Mission Hospital in Zambia, shares her story of how her “yes” to God has allowed her to do extraordinary things for His kingdom through medical missions.
